Privacy Policy

These pages describe how Arena actually operates today, but the business is not yet registered, so the operating entity and governing law are not stated, and no lawyer has reviewed them. 1. Scope

This policy explains how the operator of Arena (“we”) handles personal data when you use Arena. We act as the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). If you are in the EU/UK, GDPR terms also apply.

2. What we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password (stored hashed).
  • Content: debates, comments, votes, and profile details you submit.
  • Media: live video/audio is transmitted in real time via our media provider; we do not record it unless explicitly stated.
  • Technical: IP address, device/browser info, and usage logs.
  • Sign-in with Google (optional): if you use it, Google tells us your email address, name and that the address is verified. We never see your Google password.
  • Payment: none. Arena is currently free and we do not collect or process payment details.

3. Why we use it

To provide and secure the Service, run debates, maintain reputation and leaderboards, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We rely on your consent and on the necessity of performing our contract with you.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us run Arena, including:

  • cloud hosting (Hostinger, servers located in India);
  • real-time media (LiveKit Cloud) — audio and video pass through their global relay and are not stored;
  • AI text generation (Groq) for AI personas and moderation features;
  • authentication (Google), only if you choose to sign in with Google;
  • website analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics), which is cookieless and collects no personal data.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Cookies & local storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in (your session token). We do not use cookies for tracking and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. Our analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors, which is why this site shows no cookie banner.

6. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards as required for legal, tax, and security purposes, then delete or anonymise it.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of incapacity (as provided under the DPDP Act). To exercise any right, contact our Grievance Officer below.

9. Security, children & changes
